Christina Vasquez

Vocals•Percussion•Fiddle

ChristinaChristina Vasquez began singing in choral groups in 1998. 2005 proved to be a big milestone for her, when she toured overseas with the Oberlin Choristers' Touring Choir. Their destination was Scotland, and it was magical. Travelling through the Scottish highlands is an adventure no one could forget, and when the Choristers sang in Pluscarden Abbey, it was one of the most spiritual and powerful experiences of her life. While in Scotland she was exposed to traditional Scottish music at every turn, and she fell in love with it.

2006 held a new adventure in music - musical theater! She first sang in a chorus role in LAK's production of "The Music Man", and was hooked. Since then she's been involved with musical theater on several levels. She enjoys the performance aspect of it, but also loves working backstage building sets. For several performances of LCMT's "Hello, Dolly!", she served as propsmistress in addition to performing in the show. Altogether she's been in five musicals, and is excited to portray the role of the Jester in AK's upcoming production of "Once Upon A Mattress" in March.

Christina was pleased to join Folktic in 2007.

Cory Svette

Flute•Penny Whistle•Pan Flute•Vocals

CoryCory began singing in 2000, and began playing his many wind instruments in 2002. He began simply by becoming fluent on the flute, and slowly picked up other wind instruments such as the penny whistle, the pan flute, and oboe. Cory has been a member of the Oberlin Choristers for years and has had many fantastic opportunities with them. As a member of their Touring Choir, he's travelled to Scotland (2005) and most recently Australia (2007), where he sang in the Sydney Opera House.

Cory has loved musical theater from a young age when he played an orphan in "Oliver!" His first character role was Olin Britt in "The Music Man", and he recently landed the role of Prince Dauntless in AK's upcoming production of "Once Upon A Mattress".

Cory began playing with Folktic in 2006.
